CROQUET:  At Olympics: St. Louis, 1904

by Tremaine Arkley

ROUQE was played, not croquet. Rouque is a variation of croquet, played on a hard-surfaced court with a raised border that can be used for bank shots.

It is unknown how many points Brown scored in his loss to Chalfant.

1. Charles Jacobus USA 5-1 PF 187 PA 109
2. Smith Streeter USA 4-2  PF 156 PA 142
3. Charles Brown USA 2-4   PF (109?) PA 147
4. William Chalfant USA 1-5  PF 106 PA 160

See.  Even then we introduced our own version of the game!
